MARSHALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS (District) Will accept bids for the demolition of Shearman Elementary School and required asbestos abatement. Bid documents, and additional information, will be available beginning Monday, September 26th 2011 by phoning Beth Willson of CSM Group at (269)746-5600. Two (2) site walk-though meetings will be held. The first will be on September 29th and the second on October 5th, with a pre-bid meeting scheduled prior to the walk through on the 29th on site at Shearman Elementary, located at 624 West Mansion Street, Marshall, MI 49068. All contractors submitting proposals MUST attend at least one of the building walk-through. The cost of a Performance, Labor and Material Bonds must be included within the contractor’s base bid price in all packages in excess of $50,000. Sealed bids are due by 3:30 PM local time, Monday, October 10, 2011 to the attention of Scott Blankinship, Director of Business Operations for Marshall Public Schools, 100 E. Green St., Marshall, MI 49068. The District WILL NOT accept bids submitted after 3:30 PM, Monday, October 10, 2011. All timely received bids will be opened and read aloud at a public meeting to begin at 4:00 PM, Monday, October 10, 2011 and held in the Marshall Public Schools Community Room at 100 E. Green St., Marshall, MI 49068. Bids must include a sworn, notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board of Education of the Marshall Public Schools or the Superintendent of the District. The District WILL NOT accept bids without a sworn, notarized familial disclosure statement. Bids also must include a bid bond equal to 5% of the quoted price. The District WILL NOT accept bids without a bid bond. The District reserves the right to reject any and or all bids.
