SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATIONS:

MARSHALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS will accept bids for additions and renovations to its Marshall High School. A pre-bid meeting will be held 3:30 PM, Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Marshall High School, 701 N. Marshall Ave, Marshall, MI 49068. Bid documents, and additional information, will be available beginning January 4, 2012 by phoning Beth Willson of CSM Group at (269)746-5600. Sealed bids are due by 2:30 PM local time, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 to the attention of Scott Blankinship, Director of Business Operations for Marshall Public Schools, 100 E. Green St., Marshall, MI 49068. The District WILL NOT accept bids submitted after 2:30 PM, Wednesday, January 25, 2012. All timely received bids will be opened and read aloud at a public meeting to begin at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 and held in the Marshall Middle School Cafeteria at 100 E. Green St., Marshall, MI 49068. Bids must include a sworn, notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board of Education of the Marshall Public Schools or the Superintendent of the District. The District WILL NOT accept bids without a sworn, notarized familial disclosure statement. Bids also must include a bid bond equal to 5% of the quoted price. The District WILL NOT accept bids without a bid bond. The District reserves the right to reject any and or all bids. The work includes 25,000 square ft addition for a new auditorium, music, choir and orchestra classroom wing. Science classrooms will be renovated. All locker rooms, team rooms, and fitness room will be renovated. The existing cafeteria will be renovated and new kitchen equipment will be installed. Pool equipment will be replaced. A majority of the roof will be replaced. There are 13 bid alternates including a complete facility controls upgrade to DDC and a new green house. The project is scheduled to begin in March, 2012. The final completion date is scheduled for August 2013. There will be phasing of the interior renovation spaces over the summers of 2012 and 2013. The auditorium addition will be a continuous project of 17 month duration.
