SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATIONS:

SECTION 00 11 13 NOTICE TO BIDDERS 1 .1 NOTICE TO BIDDERS  A. Holland Public Schools, Holland, Michigan, will receive proposals from qualified contractors for Holland East K-7 landscaping, located 373 E. 24th Street, Holland, MI 49423.  B. The Owner will enter into one contract with the successful General Contractor who will be responsible for coordinating all work for the successful completion of the project.   C. Proposals must be mailed or delivered in person to Brett Roach, Facilities Director, Holland Public Schools Facilities and Maintenance Office, 870 S. Waverly Road, Holland, MI 49423. All proposals must be sealed in envelopes, plainly labeled “Holland East K-7 Landscaping” and must be received prior to 2:00 P.M., local time, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. This will be a public bid opening. Evaluation of proposals and award will be at a later date; the successful contractor(s) will receive a letter of intent prior to receipt of contract.   D. The Schedule of Work shall be as follows: February 24, 2015 at 2:00PM Bids Due  March 24, 2015 Anticipated award of contract  June 8, 2015 Anticipated start of construction  July 8, 2015 Anticipated substantial Completion   E. All bidders are required to furnish Bid Security in the amount of five (5%) percent of the Base Bid. Form of the security may be a bid bond, certified or cashier’s check made payable to Holland Public Schools. This will be a guarantee that the bidder selected by Holland Public Schools will furnish the required PLM Bonds; failure to do so could mean forfeiture of the Bid Security.  F. All bidders must indicate, where shown on the Proposal Form, the cost of Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds covering 100% of the value of the Project. Do not include the cost of the Bonds in the Base Bid.  G. All bids shall be accompanied by a sworn statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner(s) or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board of Education of the School District or the Superintendent of the School District. The Board of Education shall not accept a bid that does not include a sworn and notarized familial relationship disclosure statement.  H. All bids shall be accompanied by Affidavit of Compliance – Iran Economic Sanctions Act in compliance with “Iran linked business” within the meaning of the Iran Economic Sanctions Act, Michigan Public Act No. 517 of 2012. The Board of Education shall not accept a bid that does not include the Affidavit of Compliance.  I. Applicable Michigan use and sales tax apply to this project.  J. All bidders should note that this project does NOT require prevailing wages.  K. Bidding Documents may be viewed and/or requested via GMB’s website www.gmb.com under “Bid Sets”. Bidding Documents will be available after February 3, 2015. Bidders may order a complete set and receive a “hard” copy and/or may download drawings and specifications from the Plan Command site.
