SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATIONS:

ADVERTISEMENT FOR REQUEST FOR BID  Project: Classroom and Office Furniture at Elementary and High School Buildings Bid Package #: 3.1213B Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for Classroom and Office Furniture at Elementary and High School Buildings will be received by Chippewa Valley Schools, 19120 Cass Avenue, Clinton Twp, MI 48038, Attention: Purchasing Department, Ms. Laura Harrington. Delivery on or before Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., local time. No allowance will be made for late delivery for any reason.   Bids shall be prepared in accordance with specifications outlined in Request for Bid. Bids will be publicly opened on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. local time, by Chippewa Valley Schools, 19120 Cass Avenue, Clinton Twp, MI 48038, evaluated, with awards subsequently to be made by Chippewa Valley Schools. Bid documents may be obtained, on or after May 1, 2012, at the following website: www.chippewavalleyschools.org/bids.  Questions may be directed to Ms. Laura Harrington, Purchasing and Risk Management Supervisor, at (586) 723-2150 or via email at purchasing@cvs.k12.mi.us. A pre-bid conference will not be held, although bidders are allowed to visit the sites. Site visits must be scheduled at the least disruptive time for the school building. All visitors must check in at the main office upon arrival to any school. Bids shall be on forms furnished by Chippewa Valley Schools.  Bid security by a quality surety in the form of a bid bond, cashier check, or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid cost shall be submitted with the bid. A bidder will be permitted to withdraw his bid, unopened, after it has been submitted if so requested prior to the time specified above for opening of bids. The successful bidder shall be required to enter into a contract with Chippewa Valley Schools. Owner is exempt from all taxes. A tax exemption certificate will be issued upon request.  All bidders must provide familial disclosure in compliance with MCL 380.1267 and attach this information to the bid proposal.  The bid proposal will be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the bidder or any employee of the bidder, and any member of the Board of Education of the school district, or the Superintendent of the school district. The District will not consider a bid proposal that does not include this sworn and notarized disclosure statement. The right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part, or to waive any informalities or irregularities therein, is reserved by Chippewa Valley Schools.
